Where the MageGee Wins
Dedicated arrow keys are the big one. If you come from a full-size or tenkeyless board, losing arrow keys to an FN layer is a real adjustment. The MK-Box keeps them at the cost of a slightly larger footprint. For anyone who navigates text constantly — writers, spreadsheet users, code reviewers — that trade is worth it.
The price is the other obvious win. Thirty dollars is a low-risk entry into compact keyboards. If you decide compact is not for you, you are not out much. If you love it, you can upgrade later.
Where the Razer Wins
Switch performance. The Razer Huntsman Mini uses optical switches that actuate at 1.0mm compared to the MageGee’s ~2.0mm mechanical switches. In fast-paced games, that difference registers. The Razer switches also have a longer rated lifespan (100M keystrokes).
Keycap longevity. PBT keycaps on the Razer stay crisp for years. ABS keycaps on the MageGee will shine and feel worn within months of heavy use. If you type a lot and keep keyboards for years, PBT is a real practical advantage.
