The ATTACK SHARK X65 HE brings Hall Effect switch technology to the 65% form factor at $42. That price is the whole story. Hall Effect keyboards with rapid trigger support typically start around $70. This one cuts that nearly in half.

Hall Effect switches use a magnetic sensor to detect exactly how far down a key is pressed rather than a binary contact point. The payoff for competitive gamers is rapid trigger: the key resets the instant you release it, not at a fixed return point partway up the travel. In fast-paced FPS games like CS2 or Valorant, where re-pressing movement keys quickly matters, that is a measurable input advantage.

The 65% layout adds dedicated arrow keys to the compact footprint, making the X65 HE more versatile than a pure 60% board. You can game on it and also use it for normal desktop work without fighting FN layers for arrows and navigation.

The switch feel is worth mentioning. Hall Effect switches have a slightly different character than standard mechanical switches. They tend to be smoother and more linear-feeling. Tactile switch fans may miss the bump. But for gaming use, the precision and rapid trigger support more than compensate.

The board is not for everyone. If you do not play competitive games, you are paying for a feature you will not use. But for the target audience, getting HE switch technology with rapid trigger in a compact wired board at this price is hard to beat.

Build quality is serviceable for the price. Per-key RGB is present. The software allows adjusting actuation points and enabling/disabling rapid trigger per key, which is more granular control than most keyboards at twice the price.

Pros

  • Hall Effect switches with rapid trigger at $42
  • Adjustable actuation points per key
  • 65% keeps dedicated arrow keys
  • Per-key RGB
Cons

  • Rapid trigger advantage only relevant for competitive gaming
  • HE switch feel differs from standard mechanical
  • Less established brand support
